Terms of Service
Effective May 13, 2026
These Terms govern your use of The Fieldhouse, a service operated by Metahuman Network LLC (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
Who can hold an account on The Fieldhouse:
- Adults age 18 and over. The default account holder. Parents, coaches, athletic directors, and school administrators all create accounts directly at signup.
- Players age 13 to 17, with verifiable parental consent.A 13+ teen does not create an account directly. Instead, the teen’s parent (a manager on the player’s profile) sends an invite from the Family tab, fixes the teen’s name and date of birth, and selects which app powers the teen receives (e.g., RSVP-for-self yes, create-events on family schedules no). Defaults are conservative — RSVP-self ON and everything else OFF — and the parent can revise them at any time. By sending the invite, the parent represents that they hold legal authority to consent on the teen’s behalf.
- Children under 13 — never sign in directly. A parent or legal guardian creates and manages the child’s profile under their own (adult) account, with versioned parental consent recorded at the moment the profile is created. Children under 13 cannot create their own logins on The Fieldhouse. See our COPPA & consent page for the full flow, including parental rights and data limits.
2. Your account
- You’re responsible for the activity under your account, including any organizations or teams you create.
- Keep your password secure. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- Provide accurate information at signup, and keep it current.
3. What you can do with the service
The Fieldhouse helps you organize and follow sports schedules. Available features include, without limitation:
- Team calendars, RSVPs, and per-team rosters.
- Family schedules — parent-managed personal calendars for child activities, with optional co-parent sharing.
- Per-event carpool seats, snack volunteer signups, and parent-supplied roster fields (jersey, position, allergies, emergency contact).
- Per-team chat for parents, coaches, and opted-in organization admins (described further in section 5 below).
- Live game scores delivered as Apple Lock Screen Live Activities, plus push notifications for schedule changes, RSVPs, snack and carpool updates, and chat.
- Public team pages and calendar-feed (iCal) URLs you can subscribe to from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook.
- Short, phone-readable share codes and QR codes that resolve to any of the above shareable URLs (covered further in section 6 below).
- Fundraisers run by an organization, including a public storefront, checkout via Stripe Connect, and refund tools for coaches and organization admins (covered further in section 7 below; Family-plan accounts are not eligible to run fundraisers).
- Team branding and paid sponsorship placements under our Sponsor Guidelines (provided to organizations on paid plans).
You may not:
- Use the service to harass, harm, or impersonate any person.
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property or violates the law.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service or attempt to bypass security controls.
- Scrape or bulk-download data, including from team calendar feeds, beyond reasonable personal calendar use.
- Resell or sublicense the service.
4. Plans
- Family plan.Free, always. The default plan for any parent signing up — auto-created on first login. Lets a parent track up to 8 personal schedules for their children’s activities (sports, music, after-school, etc.) without a coach or organization invite, and co-parent shares those schedules with another adult in the household. Parents, players, and students never pay to use the Family plan.
- Local Team plan. Free, for a single team. Used by an individual coach or volunteer organizer who wants to schedule one team without subscribing.
- Club and School plans.Currently $11.99 / month (Club) and $98.99 / month (School). Sold through our parent site Metahuman Network (metahuman.network) for web purchases, or via Apple in-app purchase for iPhone purchases. Web subscriptions cancel from your Metahuman account; iPhone subscriptions cancel from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Either way, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we do not pro-rate refunds (Apple-side refunds are governed by Apple’s policies).
- Sponsorship listings. Sold separately to advertising sponsors at the prices shown on our pricing page; sponsor placements require team admin approval before going live.
- Parents, players, and students never pay to use The Fieldhouse, on any plan.
5. Team chat
Team chat is a per-team thread for parents, coaches, and opted-in organization admins. Read-only viewers (relatives following a team) are not chat members by design. By using chat you understand and agree:
- Retention.Messages are retained on a rolling 90-day window and auto-purged daily after that. Soft-deleted messages persist as a placeholder (“Deleted by sender” or “Deleted by coach”) until the 90-day purge sweeps them.
- Edits.A sender may edit their own message within 10 minutes of posting. A parent of a teen who posted on the teen’s behalf may edit their teen’s message at any time. Past that window the message is locked.
- Reactions. Members can react to any message with one of six fixed emojis. Reactions are visible to everyone in the team chat.
- GIFs.The in-app GIF picker is a server-side proxy in front of Giphy. Your search terms reach Giphy; your account and device do not. Giphy URLs are hot-linked into messages — we don’t copy GIF bytes onto our servers.
- Moderation.Coaches and organization owners/admins may delete any message in their team’s thread, and may mute a chat member to prevent further posting. We may also remove messages, reactions, or accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
- Push debounce.Push notifications for chat are debounced per recipient (one alert plus silent badge bumps for follow-up messages within a short window) so a chatty thread doesn’t buzz everyone repeatedly.
- No private messaging. Chat is team-scoped only. We do not offer 1:1 direct messages between users.
6. Share codes and QR codes
Most shareable surfaces in the app — public team page, calendar-feed (iCal) URL, parent and coach invites, fundraiser storefront, “Share Fieldhouse with a friend” invite, family co-parent invite, and the like — can be represented as a short alphanumeric code and a matching QR code. Anyone who has the code (or scans the QR) is redirected to the underlying URL.
- A code grants exactly the access the underlying URL already grants — no more, no less. Public surfaces stay public; private invites stay private.
- Codes for private invitations expire after their TTL or remaining-use count is exhausted; codes for public surfaces don’t auto-expire but the owner can rotate them at any time, which immediately invalidates the prior code.
- You are responsible for who you share a code with. Treat private invite codes the way you’d treat an email invite.
7. Fundraisers
Organizations (Club and School plans, plus single-team coaches on the free Local Team plan) may run fundraisers for physical goods through The Fieldhouse. Family-plan accounts cannot create fundraisers.
- Seller of record. The organization running the fundraiser is the seller of record for every order. Metahuman Network LLC is not the seller and does not take title to goods. We act as a software platform and (together with Stripe) the payments intermediary.
- Stripe Connect.Funds are processed through Stripe Connect Express. The organization completes Stripe’s own onboarding (identity, bank account, tax info) directly with Stripe and is subject to Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. Proceeds settle into the organization’s Stripe balance, not ours.
- Platform fee.The Fieldhouse takes a platform fee of 2% of each order, capped at $2.00 per order. Stripe’s processing fees are paid by the purchaser at checkout and shown as a separate line on the order summary before payment.
- Physical goods only. Fundraisers must sell physical goods that will be delivered or picked up. No digital goods, donations, raffles, subscriptions, services, or anything that would require additional regulatory licensing.
- Refunds. See our Refund & Dispute Policy. Coaches and organization admins can issue full or partial refunds from inside the app. Refunds reverse both the organization’s payout and our platform fee.
- Compliance. The organization is responsible for collecting and remitting any sales tax, charitable-solicitation registration, and consumer-protection obligations that apply to its fundraiser. We may suspend a fundraiser that violates these Terms, Stripe’s policies, or applicable law.
8. Content you upload
You retain ownership of the team logos, photos, names, and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, transcode, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service for you.
We process uploaded content as described in our Privacy Policy. In particular, we strip GPS, timestamps, and camera metadata from uploaded photos before storage, and we surface parent-supplied allergy notes to other parents on the team via the snack-volunteer card so other families don’t bring a food someone’s child can’t eat.
You represent that you have the right to upload the content and to grant the license above. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
9. Privacy & third-party data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.
We use a small number of third-party services to operate features visible in the app:
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for push notifications and Live Activities, when you enable them on your device.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim for converting coach-entered venue addresses to map coordinates.
- National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) for the weather pill and hourly forecast that appears on outdoor events. US-only; no API key; no advertising data shared.
- Apple Mapsvia URL hand-off when you tap “Get directions” on an event. We do not read your device’s location.
- Resend for transactional email (signup verification, password reset, invites).
- Stripe / Apple StoreKit for paid-plan checkout. We do not store payment card numbers.
- Stripe Connectfor fundraiser payments. The organization running a fundraiser is the merchant of record on Stripe’s side; buyer card data is collected by Stripe’s hosted payment surfaces and never reaches our servers.
- Giphy for the in-app chat GIF picker, via a server-side proxy. Search terms reach Giphy; your account and device do not.
We do not embed third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs in the iPhone app or on this website.
10. Suspension & termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data retention is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Metahuman Network nor its officers, employees, or affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater.
13. Changes
We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we’ll notify account owners by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon.
